Number 1#

Update number 1#
We got a dog! He is such a pretty dog. He is a 1 year old golden retriever that is named Thor (short for Theodore). I know strange name. The owners before him named him and raised him sins he was a pup. They are now going back to the States and are unable to take him a long. So they asked if we would like him for free. We of course said yes and now we have him. Here are some pics of him. I want to put better ones on but don't have time right now.

He is dirty in this pic.

He loves water so he was all wheat when I took this picture.

I need to go now.

Snake!!!!!!

Ok, so a lot of things happened in the past week, and I will tell you all of them in due time. But there is something scary, but kind of exciting, that just took place a couple of minutes ago. Ok this is the story.
I heard our dog, (I will tell you about how we got him in upcoming posts.) Thor, (His real name is Theodore but we all call him Thor. The owners before named him.) barking like crazy. I went in the back of the house to check out what was going on. I saw our dog, Thor, barking at a bush.  So I went to check it out. It was dark outside and I couldn't see what it was. I yelled for Zack, my little brother, to come and turn the lights on out back. When he turned them on I saw this huge snake. We yelled for my older brother and sister, Tyler and Sarah. Anyway, to make a long story short (Now this is when you say, "It’s too late for that." :) We got a shuffle and we killed it. We took it by the shuffle and dumped it into a bucket. When we got it in the bucket we had our neighbor  man come over to check out what kind of snake it was. He said, "its poisonous in case my eyes are deceiving me." We then saw that is was 2 snakes in the bucket. The one snake was eating the other. After that we chopped it's head off. We then looked up to see what kind of snake it was.  We found out that it is called a Banded Krait. They say it is very poisonous and could be deadly. We thank God nobody got hurt. For this snake was only a few feet from our house!!!

Songkron

Hey everybody. So right now I am preparing myself to get dunked with water. Ok, let me explain. For the next few days I will get soaked with water every time I plan to go somewhere. The reason is because of songkron. It's a huge water fight that the whole city of Chiang Mai takes place in. We went out yesterday to the moat. (That's where most of songkron takes place.) We were on the back of the pic up truck my dad has, with garbage cans full of water. We had put some ice in the water to make it coled. Anyway, by the time we got out of the moat we had to fill our bucket numerous times. We dunked random people on the street with water and they did likewise to us and everybody else. It's so much fun. I think my mom got some pics of it without ruining her camera. I will check and then maybe I will be able to post some pics of it.

FC (Fun Crafts)

how-to-make-pom-poms
This is so cool and unique or put a little more effort into it then the paper ones but these seem more fluffy and pretty. Try it.
Supplies
  • t-shirts, 1 per pom pom
  • scissors
  • cardboard
use round objects to trace circles onto cardboard to make 2 templates like those shown above. i used a roll of tape and my camera lens cap…. the diameter of the outer circle is 6.5″ and the diameter of the inner circle is 2.5″. you can play around with different template sizes to get different sized pom poms.
cut your t-shirt into 1/2″ strips. i only used from the arm pits down on each shirt. .
take one strip and one template and place strips as shown close to the inner circle.
sandwich the strip by putting the other template on top.
take a fabric strip and place on cardboard with the end even with the outer edge.
wind around the template as shown. pull the strip tightly so that it stretches the material. when you get to the end of the strip….
take another strip and place the edge even with the outer circle like you did at the beginning. when you wind it around the first time, be sure to overlap the end of the previous strip so that it is held in place.
continue winding the strips around the template until you reach the other side.
do 2 more layers of strips {so that you have 3 total layers}
now take the sandwiched strip and pull tight and wrap around each other once. this will help hold things in place for the next step.
Warning: this next step is messy. trust me.
with one hand holding the strips in place, use scissors to cut the fabric strips along the template. i recommend sharp scissors, and preferably pointy ones. unlike mine.
after all the strips are cut, pull the string tight and tie into a knot. remove templates.
should look something like this.
now give your crazy ball a good hair cut! i cut two 4.5″ diameter circles out, then sandwiched the ball and cut around to make a nice round pom pom. remove circles, fluff and trim as needed.
*added later: for more Tips and Tricks on making T-shirt Pom Poms, see this post.*

Note: If you want the pompom bigger or smaller just use more or less tee.

I hope you like it.

Snake Show/Snake Farm

These are pics of the snake show. Farther down there are pics of the snake farm. It is the same place that both these advents were taken place.

The beginning, little did we know.......
(Actually I went to the snake show before, but that doesn't matter.)

I hate this picture. I was talking that is why my mouth is hanging open.

Abby, my mom and her friend.

The people that were holding the snake were tickling the back of peoples leg and scaring them when they were getting there picture taken.

Annie and her friend Victoria.

Don't touch!

Smile for the camera.

He's kissing the snake!!!

3 snakes, 2 hands, and 1 mouth.

This snake came out of the ring and was sitting there right by the bench. We held still not daring to move.

Ok, so that is the end of the snake show. But the snake farm is the next following pics.

We think this snake was in the show because the cage was empty.

This snake was very aggressive. It capt trying to get out of the glass box.

Sweet dreams.

Hi, what's your name?

Do you see the green snake in the tree?

He looked like he was dead.

Show off.

Aren't you pretty.

Ok, that is the last of my pics. It was a lot of fun. I need to go now. I will post more pics on Thailand when I can.
To bad they don't have this kind of thing in the States. :) They also had and alligator show!
