Thailand

Ok so we got the papers for our house signed and we are now living in our house. Well, kind of. Ok so let me start from the beginning.
My sister, Annie, went to a hostel, that's where kids go to school and they sleep there and practically live there, with a friend of ours that also is an American, Victoria. The hostel is out in the country so it is really primitive. Anyway, my sister and her friend are staying there for six weeks. It's like ten hours, or something like that, out of the city. So we haven't seen them sins they left. So my parents decided to go out and visit them. They left soon after the papers were signed and they decided that me and Sarah (My sister.) should stay at the base so we would have something to do. (Sorry, I know I'm rambling. I'm almost done.) Because of this I haven't actually stayed in my house yet. Sarah and I will be sleeping in our new home tonight. Yay!
My parents came back last night but we still didn't sleep at our new house because we didn't have enough of beds yet. So we are getting more beds today.
What has the rest of my family been doing this week?
Parents - They were visiting my sister Annie. (They were gone for 2 days and 1 knight.)
My older brother Chad, who is 22 - He was living at the house and exploring the city.
My older sister Annie, who is 20 - She is and was, at the hostel taking care of kids.
My older brother Tyler, who is 18 - He was living at the house with my brother Chad also exploring the city.
My older sister Sarah, who is 15 - She was at the center with me staying with one of our friends. (Victoria's little sister was the girl we were staying with,.)
Me (I'm 13)
My younger brother Zachary, who is 11 - He was staying at a families house who he never met before going there.
And my younger sister Abigail, who is 6 - She went a long with my parents.
I need to go now.

We Got A House!!!!!

We finally got a house! We just found out yesterday (Friday) that we would be able to get this house. We have been looking at it for some time now but the problem was, the house is really, really, small. (If you didn't know. I have 6 siblings, 3 boys, 3 girls. So there is 9 of us all together. Including my parents.) My parents are going to sign the papers on Monday. We are planning to screen in the small porch out front and make it a living room. The house has a nice yard that we will be spending most of our time in. ( I will give pics of our house when I can.) I need to go now. I will tell you more about it when we actually move in. Bye

God's Boxes

God's Boxes

I have in my hands two boxes,
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box,
And all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes,
Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
But though the gold became heavier each day,
The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God, and mused,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be!"
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me.."

I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let go."

Thailand

Hey everybody. Sorry about the long period of time with no posts. I have been really busy lately. We haven't found a house yet but we have narrowed it down to 4 houses. We are praying earnestly for God to show us the house he wants us to have.
We are still at the center. We have to move into a hotel aether tonight or tomorrow. We are praying that this will be our last week without a house. We thank God we were able to be at the center for so long.
In about 10 minuets my family and I will be going to see one more house that we saw pics of and a house that my parents saw. So I better go now. I will try to update all of you soon about what we found.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for praying for my family and I. It really helped. Let me tell you why I'm so happy. Just yesterday Shawn (A fun person that works here at GTO base.) said that we don't have to move into the hotel  We can stay here at GTO base. The reason we had to leave is because a team was coming in and they would need the rooms we are staying in right now, but Shawn said that they can sleep in a hotel instead. They are only staying for 2 nights so they wouldn't be here long. He said we could be here until the next team comes in. I'm not sure how long that is but we are hoping we will find a house before then. Thanks for the prayers you whispered in God's ear.

How do Thai letters look?

This is a little how Thai looks.

ฌนกสนอำหันีใ
(God loves you)

The alphabet.
ฟ ิ แ ก ำ ด เ ้ ร ่ า ส ท ื น ย ๆ พ ห ะ ี อ ไ ป ั ผ

It's really confusing. I will explain more about the language later. Please pray that we can learn Thai. Thanks

Hotel

Tonight we are moving to the hotel. It's just a short walk away from the center so we can  walk over dooring the day and play. My parents have been looking at houses all day today and yesterday. It's really hard to get a Thai house with a big kitchen and room for guess. The reason we are looking for a big kitchen is because my mom loves being in the kitchen, and we need room for guess because we plan to have a lot of people over while we are here in Thailand. I need to go now. Please pray that we find a house soon and that the hotel is nice.

FC (Fun Crafts)

This is really cute and useful project that you should really try. You can use an old skirt or maybe your brothers old pants.

Instructions

  • Turn the shorts inside out and cut the legs off straight across, just above the crotch of the shorts. Keep the cut-off fabric to use later.
  • 2
Put a denim needle into the sewing machine. Sew the bottom of the bag together, straight across.
  • 3
Cut two pieces of denim (using the excess fabric from the legs of the shorts) that are each 14-inches long and 2-inches wide. These will form the handles of the purse.
  • 4
Fold one of the handle pieces in half, bringing the longer sides together (right sides of the fabric facing each other).
  • 5
Sew the long sides of the handle piece together (opposite the fold). Turn the handle piece right side out. Repeat this process with the other fabric handle piece.
  • 6
Curve each handle piece into a loop and sew them onto either side of the top opening of the purse. The top opening will be what used to be the waistband of the shorts.
  • 7
Sew a piece of Velcro onto each side of the top opening. Turn the bag right side out.
  • 8
Sew fabric trim (such as grosgrain ribbon) onto the top edges of the purse.

    I got these steps at

Hope you enjoy doing this fun craft.
